In this essay, the author speaks of very true points on internet commercials. He talks about how the creators of these advertisements basically cut out all negative problems and basically reality in order to persuade people to buy their product or watch their show or visit their site. The sad thing is that about 80 percent of the time it works. As much as I wish all people only acted on factual information and credibility, this is not the case which is a very accurate point. The author uses pathos and ethos by appealing to the viewer’s emotions by showing perfection. And he says that the commercials clearly do not use logos since they are illogical without reality. But emotion is what most people act on, in any circumstance: anger, love, remorse…etc. This is why internet commercials along with any other ad will continue to become more and more like a utopia, the desired and sought after life.
